Check What Our Families Are Saying
My aunt has been living at Apple Blossoms Assisted Living for over three years. She was the first person to be admitted to this facility. When I was looking for a place for her, as she could no longer live alone, I spent several days visiting other similar places. Apple Blossoms seemed to have everything that I wanted for my aunt. It was small enough for her not to get lost and Mrs. Rodney’s family took an interest in her as well.
I appreciate the contact and the relationship that I have with Odette; she is always the same – she listens to what I have to say and talks to me in great detail regarding the condition of my aunt. I also appreciate the fact that I know that Odette is a spiritual person – we have the same values in life. At the first visit after my aunt moved in – she asked me how I found such a nice person for her to live with. I feel that my aunt’s life has been extended by her living at Apple Blossoms.
I recommend Apple Blossoms highly! As of this date, my Mom has been a resident here for two-and-a-half years. My husband and I could not be happier with this “fit” between her needs and personality, and the services and personal attention that she receives.
My mother lived in her own home until she was 91 years old. It was a huge transition to move her from the house where she had resided for over 50 years into y assisted living facility. The first facility we tried was what might be considered a mid-sized institution. It offered a pleasant enviromnent with recreational activities but a set menu, a rather regimented schedule, and, as we were to discover, a high staff turnover. Mom did not adjust; she withdrew into herself. After one year, we moved her into the home setting of Apple Blossoms, and it has made a world of difference. Home cooking where her personal food preferences are honored; flexibility in scheduling mealtimes, showering, etc., where how Mom feels on any given day is taken into consideration; Mrs. Odette Rodney’s patience, genuine caring, and personal attention to build Mom’s trust–all are hallmarks of life at Apple Blossoms.
In addition, Mrs. Rodney and I have established a great personal partnership. I live nearby and either my husband or I visits Mom often. Mrs. Rodney and I work together to identify any deterioration in my mother’s health status early and solve problems creatively whenever my mother becomes resistant to needed changes in nutrition, medical care, activity level. Mom is now 96 years old and counting. Given the fact that she has dementia and underwent two surgeries in 2005, I am convinced that her continued longevity with, still, as much quality of life as possible, is largely due to this partnership.
Any prospective resident who has the social skills to interact with others, yet respect personal privacy in a group home setting, will thrive at Apple Blossoms.
I hope this information is reassuring and will be helpful as you make an important decision regarding the loved one in your family who needs assisted living.

Senior Living Question Answers
What distinguishes Apple Blossoms from other senior living facilities?
From the moment you arrive at Apple Blossoms Assisted Living, the difference is immediately felt. Nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood surrounded by blossoming trees, our home reflects class, dignity, and comfort. Unlike traditional senior living facilities, there are no signs or institutional features, only a welcoming, home-like assisted living environment designed to help seniors feel at ease.
Our residents receive personalized assisted living and respite care for seniors in a warm, intimate setting that promotes comfort, familiarity, and peace of mind. This approach allows us to deliver high-quality assisted living care for elderly individuals while maintaining the feeling of a true home rather than a facility.
The inviting aroma of home-cooked meals often fills the house, as residents gather together like family. Sharing stories, laughter, and companionship. Families are warmly encouraged to join their loved ones for meals during visits, reinforcing our belief in family-centered senior care.
It is this sense of belonging, compassion, and comfortable senior living that truly sets Apple Blossoms Assisted Living apart as a trusted assisted living community.
How is an Assisted Living Facility different from a Nursing Home?
It’s smaller. More intimate. Just like home. It’s a five bed facility so the residents get more attention versus the nursing home where the ratio for care is at least 15 (or 26) to 1 where we have 5 to 1 or less. Someone is here twenty-four hours a day. We have a volunteer from the local school’s CNA program.
How do I know if it's time for me to look at assisted living?
This decision is unique to each individual’s nature, health, and daily needs. When a senior begins to find it difficult to manage daily activities such as personal care, mobility, or household tasks, it may be time to consider an assisted living facility for seniors. An assisted living home also provides family members reassurance that their loved one is safe, supported, and receiving proper care even when they cannot be present.
Is your Assisted Living Facility allowed to give medication?
Yes, we are allowed to administer medication. Our licensed assisted living facility in Maryland employs a certified medication technician, which is a requirement set by the State of Maryland and Montgomery County. This ensures that residents receive proper medication management as part of our professional senior assisted living services.
What if a senior is very ill but does not need to go to a hospital?
We have an on-call physician who visits our assisted living residence as needed. If the issue is acute, the physician will come once and provide follow-up care to ensure the resident is recovering well. In addition, our doctor is available for guidance, and we frequently consult him with questions. We can also arrange in-home lab services for seniors through Holy Cross home health labs.
